Professional regulations

All lawyers of cogito.legal Rechtsanwälte Rheingans Römisch Wiehl PartGmbB are admitted to the bar in the Federal Republic of Germany and belong to the Hanseatic Bar Association Hamburg, Valentinskamp 88, 20355 Hamburg (competent supervisory authority). The professional regulations of the Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO), the Professional Code of Conduct for Lawyers (BORA) and the Specialist Lawyers’ Regulations (FAO), the Act on the Remuneration of Lawyers (RVG), the Money Laundering Act (GWG), the relevant order of the Hamburg Bar Association, the professional rules of lawyers of the European Community and the Act on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany apply. The locally competent bar associations mediate in disputes between chamber members and their clients in accordance with § 73 para. 2 sentence 1 no. 3 BRAO. In addition, the arbitration board of the legal profession for the settlement of such disputes has been set up at the Federal Bar Association in accordance with § 191f BRAO. We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Clients can contact us at any time with questions about their fee statement or make use of the mediation of the Hanseatic Bar Association Hamburg.

For our legal work there is professional liability insurance with Allianz Versicherungs-AG, Königinstraße 28, 80802 Munich. The insurance meets the requirements of § 51 BRAO. Its geographical scope covers the Federal Republic of Germany and the member states of the European Union.
